One of my close friends made this comment on face book concerning the “Notes of Inspiration from the Desk of Patrice Tankard” Website:
“Patrice Dowling says thank you to Patrice Tankard for being a presenter of prolific artistic expression echoing the heartbeat of God to the nations. Love ya!”
What is it that God will require of my life? What an honor and pleasure to be able to be used by the Lord in any capacity. I remember as a young child always having the desire to express myself through the written form. Documenting and creative writing is fun to me. When I served as an Elder in a ministry in Florida for ten years, one of the requirements was to write a minister’s report weekly. All of the ministers and elders were assigned a certain number of families to visit and pray for each week. I was assigned fifteen families to serve each week. All of these families were families of single mothers and their children. (I really appreciated the Pastor for this assignment because I was a single mother with children also) Our assignment was to minister to our assigned families, pray with them, spend time with them, encourage them and document the progress. We were to turn in a type-written minister’s report every Thursday by 5:00 P.M. to our pastor. I cannot express to you the joy that I had in doing this. Spending time with these families and ministering to them was the highlight of my life. What an awesome concept for a ministry! The average minister’s report was about one and a half pages. This was so much fun for me that sometimes the report would be three to five pages long.
The point I want to make is this: I say thank you to Patrice Dowling for her insight. All I know is that God has been so awesome to instill in me the desire to express revelations, interpretations, wisdom, understanding and enlightenment in the written form. When I sit down to write, things happen to my spirit and my mind. What an awesome feeling. All I want to do is please God. It is not necessary for me to always grace a pulpit to touch a life. Ministry comes in all forms, shapes and sizes, administrations and various avenues. If God says to preach from a pulpit I can do that. If he says to write a song and play melodiously on a Hammond B3 organ I can do that. If he says to choreograph a prophetic dance for the dance troupe, through God’s grace it is possible. If he says lay hands on the sick so that they can recover, his grace is sufficient for that. But when he says to sit down and write what He tells me, that is another world in and by itself. I have journals that were written when I fasted for forty days and nights. I wrote down revelations, dreams and visions and enlightenment while fasting each and every day. When I have dreams I write them down. When people are used by God to prophesy into my life I write down every prophecy. All I know is that I am striving to be a vessel for the Lord. Though I am not perfect at all, the process continues. And if he wants me to be a “writing preacher” along with all of the other gifts and blessings, I am willing. I want to be that vessel that exhibits “prolific artistic expression echoing the Heart of God to the nations.” Patrice Dowling thank you so much again for the revelation.
Patrice Tankard

This is me at 13 years old. I expressed a great interest in writing down my ideas and concepts while in middle school.

This is me today. I am still working on my writing skills while documenting major concepts including Fasting & Prayer Journals, dreams, visions, revelations and prophecy, wisdom and insight that were received from others.

I am an Elder at Parks Chapel Church in Fayetteville NC where Ben & Jewel ministered during our 64th Church Anniversary in October. We had a God Awesome time. Patrice, I too am a writer putting principles into a form that can touch lives and bring healing and deliverance. God let me know I have a scribal anointing. Sometimes He talks and I just take dictation. I recently came upon a book entitled The Scribal Purpose and The Scribal Anointing by Theresa H. Johnson which confirmed the gift and explained how God was raising up scribes to fulfill a specific purpose in these last days. I applaud you and encourage you to give it all back to Him and He will pour and pour and pour…out of you. Be blessed.
I wanted to say thanks for your message on “A Writing Preacher.” The Lord deals with me through dreams and visions. He has placed a Prophetic call upon my life. The Holy Spirit was leading me to write down my dreams and visions from the LORD. I found myself being persistent in the beginning and later swayed away from it. Some of the dreams I had the Lord brought them to pass. My husband later confirmed that the visions and dreams the Lord was giving me, I needed to write them down. Your insight on ” A Writing Preacher” has stirred up the gift in me that God has called and ordained me for such a time as this.
I thank God for your obidence to the call of GOD, by your inspirations, and encouragement.
Patty,
I just read your article on the “Writing Preacher”. I found it very interesting that you used the words, “from the heart of God”. These are the very words that I have often used to conclude words of inspiration. Right before one of the most trying ordeals of my life, I remembered God telling me specifically to write, write, write… I ask your prayers as I move into another dimension of obedience to finish writing and to publish my book, and to write and produce films that will create positive change in individuals, families, relationships, and local and world-wide communities.
God Bless You!
Wow! I feel so blessed to be associated with a writing preacher. Preach on Sweetheart! May God richly bless you in this ministry! Know that you have my support in all you choose to do for the Kingdom of God. Let Him use you as He reveals Himself and His heart to you. I love you.
Your Husband,
Gregory
